Dentures

Dentures provide a second chance at a beautiful smile and acceptable bite function when many teeth are missing.  They support facial structures, assist with speech and permit normal diet and nutrition, all of which are compromised when teeth are missing. A full denture replaces all the teeth on the upper or lower arch.  A partial denture is used when some teeth are still present to be used for attachment of the denture.  

Implant Support

Any denture, full or partial, can also be supported by dental implants.  Larger “root form” implants are robust and are often connected by a bar which serves as the actual denture support.  Centercare also offers “mini implants,” a newer technology which is popular for improving retention of lower full dentures.  These can be used with existing dentures.  The surgical step is minimal and the implants can be put into function immediately.  For more information and testimonials on mini implants, follow this link.

Appearance

Dentures can be very attractive.  When existing teeth don’t have to be matched during tooth replacement, a large opportunity exists for creating ideal color, shape and position.  It’s not unusual for a smile with a denture to look better than the original ever did.
